In a world in which acquiring of knowledge seems to be non-stop in order to stay ahead and on top, we have to do some serious examination and self motivation.
Programme ourselves for success such as taking stock of ourselves, teach ourselves how to control our own mental programs by understanding why, how and what we do.
Understand our life purpose and diligently identify what makes us function and define our mission in life. John Maxwell said, “We cannot become what we need to be by remaining what we are.”
Constant self motivation and personal development is a must because this is the foundation and key for making our lives work for the better. “Age is no handicap to learning a new trade, profession, or anything you want to do at any time of life.” E.L. Thorndike.
Model other people who have achieved success. Study and adopt the characteristic of peak performers to achieve success. Charles Adair said; “You get better results if you have high expectation. This is true in science, math, reading, football or band.”
Value ourselves. Until we value ourselves, we won’t value our time, and further until we value our time, we won’t do anything with it.
Increase our skill in influencing other people in a positive manner. The art of personal rapport allows us to get things done by teaming with and leveraging the strength of others. Remember this saying; “No matter what great things you accomplish, somebody helps you.” William Randolph
Adjust our attitude. It is our attitude that determines our direction in life. “A positive mental attitude combined with definiteness of purpose is the starting point of all worthwhile achievement.” Napolean Hill
